Another (vacuum?) hose ruptured on the Volvo. I need a new one. It's that long part along the top of that picture... The one which you can't fully read the numbers. Do you (or anyone) know what that is!? Thanks!

Your Volvo dealer doesn't know?

That looks like a brake booster hose. Just make one with a new check valve. It isnt a big vac system in those

I will be making my own I just really want to know what it is for at this point. And the proper diamters. The old hose completley cracked and split and disinegrated in my hand so I cant really use for reference anymore.

I haven't called them or tried. I just want to try and get that number. But I don't even know what the hose does so trying to Google is near impossible.

You can buy generic hose from any parts store. I refreshed my whole vacuum system on my E38 for under 5 bucks.
Bring it in and they'll sell you specific diameter by the foot

It's an emissions hose (#31) that plugs into evap switch (#8)
The switch (#8) has 2 hoses going into it. A hard plastic line that runs along the unibody from EVAP canister all the way to the engine bay by the radiator. The other (#31 that you requested) is the other that plugs into the switch (#8)
The part you need comes in a 3 to 1 hose assembly. Part# is 1270480 and it's around $90 retail. Lets enhance the image....enhance!!!
those little bumps are the inline filters

Where did it attach? Send a picture with locations of both ends. Did it go to the booster?

Thank you so much for all your help here! Figures Volvo would make me broke.
So... Umm.. How bad is it that i got new hoses at Autozone for $2 and will just use that?

if it's just a cracked hose than any would do :]
FYI any car will leave you broke.

Do yourself a favor and replace all the vacuum hoses at once. Silicon is a good choice. Remove the intake tube and you should find 3 hoses. Better yet go over to volvospeed.com and search "stage zero".
