Remember two days ago when I told you how I drove a friend and one of his friends home, and the friend-of-friend seemed deeply confused as to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! instead of my Panzer? Well, the next day (yesterday) I discovered a red solo cup half full of water in the back door pocket, and two cupcakes, frosting-side down, in the carpet behind the front passenger seat. To make it worse, this was my friend that left me these gifts, not the other kid. The good news was, when I made the discovery, I was at my mountain bike race, as was he. And he was standing about 20 feet away from my car. With his mom. Which meant I got to walk over, return his lost foodstuffs, and yell and rant at him. In front of his mom. Needless to say, he will not be riding in my car again any time soon. Certainly not with food.

I would've shoved the kid down whatever mountain you were bike racing on.

Wow, that's extremely disrespectful.
Hope it doesn't reek in there.

Good response.

It's Nebraska, so "mountain" = dirt path through forrest on small hill.
Oh well, I'll just push him into a tree.

good response. I would have also made him clean up the car to the standard it was before.
How did your race go? Down hill or cross?

Fortunately, it was the removable carpet mat and not the floor, so it should come out okay.

Thats exactly why I dont let my friends get in with food.
I first didn't really care, but then I started finding bottles of whatever they were drinking, and the usual folded wrapper of their snack between the seats.

That's always good, you should get some rubber mats probably though.

I thought about it, but I didn't.
Cross. I got 10th out of 23 for the race, which bumped me up to 8th out of 31 for the season. And it was fun.

That would piss me off. What a fucking jerk.

I know that feel. Never had it with food, but a really good friend of mine left sunscreen marks all over the back seat of my car once. They've put up with a lot of crap from me over the years, so I let it slide, but that didn't stop me from being really annoyed about the whole thing, and the marks never did come out completely.
Unless they really got mashed in there hard, a few good applications of Woolite and a vacuum cleaner should get the frosting marks out. It's amazing the stains that that stuff will lift. I'm fastidious about keeping my car's interior clean (oddly enough, I don't care anywhere near as much about the exterior), and I really don't understand the mentality of people who think that kind of messiness is okay in your own car, let alone somebody else's.
*goes back to dusting centre console switches with a paint brush*

The kicker: At no point, when he got into the car, was riding in the car, or got out of the car, did I realize he had food.

I think I have some. I should go check.

Yeah, they are always good to have even if they aren't necessarily needed.

It sucks, because apart from that, he's a decent guy. Albeit a goofball.

My cross race was two weeks ago (first ever HS cyclocross race in nebraska). That was fun as well, but I did rather poorly in that.

OH, cyclocross. I walking about cross-country MTB. eh, close enough

What you need is my mom's purse. 3 or 4 cans of soda, a shitload of candy and several bags of chips all fit without arousing any suspicion.
Our movie theater food is good, but a soda is $5 and a popcorn is $10, which is not expensive so much as it is extortion.

The one I did yesterday was cross-country, the one two weeks ago was cyclocross.

ah, ok. I never understo the cylcocroos craze. oh well. I have my roadie and my Xc, i'm fine...though id love a downhiller and somewhere to actually ride it.

OH MY GOD THOSE WHEELS THOUGH!

Quite possibly. Other things that I have in common with James May: ridiculous hair, propensity to say "oh cock", thinking that Clarkson is a bit of a tosser, and drastic sense-of-humour failures under stress. Though honestly, I get it all from my Dad, who is even more James May than I am.
But seriously, I was out there with a little paintbrush just yesterday.

They're a little dusty right now, but oh well.

Haha, I once went with a younger cousin who had just received a ferret for a pet. He took it to the cinema on a bag, and NO ONE noticed. I kid you not, we saw the movie and played with the Ferret without anyone bating an eyelid.

oh dude. if anyone did that in Lil'Red. I would take them out in the car, and refuse to get my foot off the floor until they put $50 in the cupholder, for cleaning. I'd scare the shit out of them. and if they aren't scared, I'd throw the foodstuff at their house the next day

The floor mats in my a6 took forever to clean (carpet cleaner does not get clay out very well)
