Meeting between Ford executives in the mid 2000's.
Ex. 1: "We've got to something about Lincoln. We have cars that people like, but they're getting old."
Ex. 2: (in a snarky tone) "The cars or the customers?"
Ex. 1: "Both. What should we do about it?"
Ex. 2: "Well, we could make a Panther replacement, update the LS, maybe make a smaller car and kill the Blackwood."
Ex 1: "Hmmm, good thoughts, so, you're saying that we kill everything and start a new brand identity? Ax the Panther and replace it with this old Volvo platform we have lying around, kill the LS and use this old Mazda platform, make some cross-overs out of them and call it a day. It'll be cheap!"
Ex 2: "no, that's..."
Ex 1: "Perfect, glad to see you're on board. Meeting adjourned! Who want's to go to the range?"

You will be hearing from Ford's lawyers later today. Clearly industral espionage went down.

The LS is such a sad, sad story of an evolutionary dead end with so much potential.

The platform still soldiers on though!

And bits and pieces of it are still in the Mustang too.
