Ok, Hat, we need to talk. What's up with the poutine? Everyone talks about how amazing it is and "ha-ha silly Americans you don't have kinder surprise because you'll eat and choke on the toys" ..wait.. that's different. Ok poutine, where do I get some? Or how do I make it? no I'm not going to Google it.

Depends on where you are, I guess. I've found a couple of food trucks in Ohio that sell it (though if you're in Cleveland, choose a Polish Boy over poutine). It's essentially brown gravy over French fries, preferably all very hot so that the cheese curds on top will melt nicely. Even the cheap $3 version at McD's is tasty. I'mma convince my wife to start making this stuff.

if you really want to try poutine, it's only in Quebec that they make it the right way. The best poutines are made in those shady fry stands by the road. Not restaurants.

Dear pants,

Poutine is cheese curds on fries (or shredded/cheese chunks now) smothered in gravy. BTW gravy on fries is delicious! Try it, once you go modified fat drippings, you never go Back. And mayo. Mmm McFries with mayo....

Harveys has the best Fast Food Poutine chainwise, followed by Wendy's then BK. I find the McDs one to be last place finisher after everything else. You are doing a disservice to yourself and poutine in general. We also have Ketchup flavored chips.

Not even comparable IMO. They may have been nasty in the past, but we just had one open and they make good food. My kids don't ask for McDs or Wendy's, they ask for Harveys. White castle is more like Fast Eddies. Burgers for nothing, greasy and yuck. unless u are drunk, high, or a uni or college student.

I used to hate Harveys but they seem to have stepped up a bit. Mmmmm Double angus burger with cheese and bacon. Poutine and a soda. Mmmmmmm

edit: I've eaten at both and all I can say in regards to your, lovely I am sure, wife's comment is REALLY????

ps. As I am Canadian, I feel that I have to apologize for something, so here goes: I am sorry that your wife is wrong. And socialized healthcare. And real beer. And Quebec. But mostly for the wife being wrong thingy.
