I saw that a while ago. It happens to be just one of many reasons that safety harnesses expire, why tech inspection is so important, and why roll cages are mandated.

If that care hadn't been caged, he'd be dead. You can tell when he starts walking away from the car, he doesn't know what he just got out of. He probably didn't tighten his harness or have it on properly. Simply put, you're not going to get out of a properly set up harness without going through all the steps to release it. They exist for a reason....

My thoughts as well. Things like cracked vertebrae aren't easily noticed when in shock.

I have seen so many people here in the local drag strip not even using the seatbelt.
Used to went there with some friends to the open drag nights (Only participated twice) but when I noticed some people carry a whole cooler with beer and drink while waiting in line I decided to never go again
