They sold like hotcakes here, every single upper middle-class soccer mom bought one and then bulletproofed it.

Not-Very-Common at all.

0 because we don't get a Veracruz.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:27 |

I have no idea what that even is.

Were* sorry haha.

Eh, not particularly popular. The Santa Fe was a much better seller here I think.

A Hyundai Vera Cruz.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:31 |

Not sure I've ever seen one. Tonnes of Sante Fe's though.

I think they had okay sales here in the U.S. with the Veracruz, but they retired that in favor of the three-row Santa Fe.

Same with the Borrego right? (god that's an ugly name, it was called the Mohave here)
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:33 |

Any idea why?
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:34 |

Yup, not many at all lol.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:35 |

my fathers girlfriend had a 2008 Veracruz up until a month ago.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:35 |

They retired it everywhere I think. The Borrego was wildly unpopular though wasn't it?
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:35 |

Their pretty common in colorado.

What happened? Everyone got out unscathed?

She hit a parked truck at about 30 mph. Apparently she was in her neighborhood trying to get her son money from her purse, and she slammed into the back of the truck. The airbags went off, and they both escaped injury.

Huh, I'm getting a lot of different answers, seems like it sold better in some states than others. Scoobie had never seen one
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:40 |

No clue. I try to avoid thinking about Hyundais.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:42 |

Yeah, the Borrego was a full-size SUV that didn't sell very well. The Veracruz was a CUV that was based on a different platform AFAIK.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:43 |

You ever driven it?
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:44 |

Coloradoans like asian Suvs, because of AWD, plus the perception of reliability from asian Automakers. Plus, It was cheaper than the Kia Borrego and bigger than the Rav4/CRV
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:47 |

The Borrego (Mohave here, so much better) never sold well there, even with the awesome V8.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:51 |

I agree, but Import Suv buyers want good gas mileage. The only reason the Land cruiser did well here is because of its heritage. If Americans want a V8 they buy an american car. I dont get it, people are strange as Jim Morrison once said
![]() 10/23/2014 at 21:59 |

I will never understand some american things, like pin striping, landau roofs, leasing, "Limited" model designations and "Buy American".
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:02 |

How does all this relate to the Tucson, which I think we can buy here in US America.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:03 |
|
You can buy a Veracruz in the US.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:05 |

Even some americans dont get it. Like me, I dont get it. I think its a perception thing rather than a Regional thing
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:06 |

I see Tucson and Santa Fe available on the US website.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:09 |

Oh, I thought you meant a used one, the Veracruz was discontinued all over the world.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:11 |

norsk, these actually were sold in the states. I've seen one since 2010
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:12 |

WE don't get them anymore, regardless I've never seen one.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:21 |

Might have been badged as something different here ... too tired to look. And it's nice that Hyundai, whose cars were crap in the 80s, have attained Japanese levels of quality.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:24 |

Yes, quite a few times. It basically drove just like my old Kia Soul. There is basically no steering feel, acceleration is good enough, brakes are so so, bad gas milage, and a rough ride. I wouldn't really recommend one, as there are so many other better options. I ended up finding her a 2011 Toyota Venza to replace the Veracruz.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:36 |

What am I looking at? It's clearly a crossover, specifically a Hyundai crossover (judging by the H badge), but other than that, I can't tell.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:49 |

They were sold there as Veracruz but probably didn't sell that well in your state.
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:50 |
|
Hyundai Veracruz
![]() 10/23/2014 at 22:51 |
|
Nice, there are immensely better options, I was just wondering why it sold so well here and so badly/mediocrely there.
![]() 10/24/2014 at 01:13 |

Oh. I THINK they used that name here at one point, but I don't think they do anymore.

I can't really remeber the last time I saw one.
