Commercials in the 80s and 90s, looking back, were downright cheesy. Which one, do you think, is the most defining example of the decade?

Here's one from the 90s for Cadillac. Fitting music, and that overall style of video you would come to expect.

And for the 80s

1986 Ford Taurus commercial. Stereotypical 80s music, kind of a sci-fi touch, especially with the digital dash. Just really fits the decade so well.

Absolutely. Even more regrettable is the fact that I had one. Mine was a '99 Taurus wagon. Worst car I have ever owned, and I would never drive another one as long as I am within my proper senses and right mind.
