...you finally realize the car next to it is an old Accord, not an old Civic.

Lol, yep. I felt that way almsot ten years ago when I actually had an early 90s Accord. They've only gotten bigger.

One could argue that compact cars really aren't that compact anymore. The Fit is the real compact, the Civic the midsize and the Accord full size.

I feel that the new bloat in cars is unnecessary nowadays.

Both cars have exactly the same length, the civic is 2inches wider. But this is not a bad thing necessarily. This accord was a compact (the civic was a sub-compact). Both cars moved one category up.

I don't think I realized before that the Accord and Civic made category jumps like that. I never really thought about it that much.

At this rate, Honda will need to introduce a new model under the Fit at some point.
(I'm only partially joking)

IMHO Honda already needs to. The Fit isn't much smaller than the Civic. Not to mention good luck trying to find a Fit under like $15k. Cars are just too big. Model bloat is rampant these days.

I love that body style of Accord, I've owned three of them. I think they've aged fairly well, too.

They probably already did.
Kei cars.

It especially seems to have aged well compared to the 2012 Civic.

It surprised me the other day when I saw a second generation Fit next to a 4th generation Prelude. The Prelude looks down right small in comparison.

Funny you posted this, I saw an old brown Civic 1500 (I forgot the letters after 1500) three door hatch on my way back to the office after lunch today. It was the one of the smallest things I've ever seen on the road. It was at least half the size of my 4 door '09 Civic. I really want to get one, but I doubt that I would be able to fit in it.

Nice looking Prelude.
