I like the original movie, but Olivia Wilde wasn't in it.

Ive seen both, the new one is of better quality. But the scripting on both are about equal

I'm going to voice an unpopular opinion: I like Tron Legacy. Not just how it looks (because let's be honest, it looks gorgeous), but everything about it. Visuals, story, characters, acting, soundtrack, set design, costume design, all of it. It's a solid movie.

I think you really have to have been a child of the '80s to really appreciate the original. Seeing it in the theater, much like seeing Star Wars for the first time back in the day, meant much more than seeing it now. Back then, it was new, exciting. A brave new world. I pumped more quarters into the Tron video game than I care to think of now.

Probably so, but its a valid comparison

I can agree with you for the most part, but I found the story could have been a bit better.

I enjoyed the original over Legacy, maybe because it was so awesome for its time.

That's what I was trying to get at, but the beer is getting in the way. We've become jaded, much harder to amaze. When Tron , and Star Wars , came out, we were blown away. We never thought things like that were possible. Now, anything's possible. The impossible is the new normal.

That being said, the soundtrack to Legacy is amazing.

As much as I'm a child of the original, I'm thoroughly enjoying Legacy . Visually stunning, fantastic soundtrack. Not exactly sure what's going on, but I don't care. Also, Olivia Wilde.

No argument here, it stumbles in a few places, but I think it's good overall

Is this your first time seeing Legacy?

First time watching it, not first time seeing it. We watched it some time ago, but it was at home with the kids, and I couldn't really pay attention to it. I'm in a hotel tonight, watching it on my own.

I liked it, too. In fact, I saw it four times when it came out, and then bought the Blu-Ray on release.

I *cough* something'd the Blu-Ray, and also bought the soundtrack, and the subsequent re-mixed soundtrack.

Oh yeah, I also bought the soundtrack. Not the remixed one, though, because I didn't really like that one.

You know what else you had to be a child of the 80s to appreciate?

This shit Intellivision game.

We had it, and I think it was one of the least-played games on the shelf.

I do too. I don't get the hate. Is it the best movie ever? Well yea, but no. It's very well composed: visually stunning, amazing soundtrack, good pace. It's just enjoyable to watch

Oh my god, that's horrible, even by the standards of the day. The full-on arcade game was great, though, especially the light cycles.

Wow. Much 8-bit, many beeps, such blocks.

I had an Intellivision which I liked very much. When I was about 15 we moved and the Intellivision disappeared - I'm pretty sure it ended up in the pile of garbage by accident. That was sad...

I was at mom's one day back in the mid 90s, and thought.. I should take it home with me and see if it still works.

It was sitting behind the TV, plugged in. It had probably been plugged in for 5 years.

Did not start.

I preferred Legacy, but it was nothing without its predecessor

and the musical sting that accompanies this scene is so perfect
