Because cheap insurance, low cost, and durability! (as long as it isn't a turbo!)
And because pop up headlights!!!!

lawl
I considered looking into doing a 302 ford swap or a 2.3 turbo 4 swap but... the cost would outweigh the benefits by like 5:1 lol

LOL I think they look like 928's to be honest... just cheaper and not German ;)

Well the 928 is just an updated 944, so I think were both right

I thought it was an updated 924 with a V8?

A 924 was the lower end version of the 944, just like the 928 is the lower end version of the 968

I had an 88 convertible at one point, and I still miss that car. One day...

No. It is a completely different car, the 928 came out in the late 70's. You are thinking of the 968. 928 is a GT car.

Ya, alot of numbers for tired people, Im starting to get light headed. But that could either be because I got 5 hours of sleep last night or because I only had 1 bag of doritos to eat today, nothing else. Ive been busy

oh, you may be right.

928 was originally slated for the 911's replacement, but didn't. The 924 was an entry level Porsche, but really wasn't replaced by the 944, since they lived together in the line up from '82-'88. They did share the same platform though. The 944 was more of a premium entry level sports car.

So essentially I was right, but it needs more explanation

About the 924, pretty much, but with the 928, no. The 968 was the 944's replacement. The 928 lasted from '77-'95, and never had a replacement.

I do agree that these are i best looking RX-7. Personally, not a rotary fan, needs more LS.

But LS swaps cost 2-3X as much as the whole car :(

Worth it!

I don't think that is right at all. 924 -> 944 ->968. And they weren't lower end versions in the traditional sense, it was a new model and there was some overlap for a few years. 928 is the GT (planned 911 replacement) and is a completely separate model
