E2 Hawkeye flying down the Hudson. Since it has the hook down that that mean it came from a carrier?

No clue why the hook would be down. It probably means the hook mechanism is broken. There's no reason for it to be down

Maybe the pilot bumped the selector on accident, but that shouldn't be down unless he's on approach. I'm jealous. I only ever see buses in the sky over the city...

Not necessarily. I'm fairly sure the Navy has land-based runways with arresting wires to simulate carrier landings.

Yeah I see tons of sightseeing choppers and airliners, but once in a while something special. My dad saw 3 V-22s flying up the Hudson in formation a few weeks ago.
