Good lord what a fucking phenomenal film. I won't give anything away but I have to say that I thought this was going to be a much different story. This is not just another WW2 movie, this is a refresh for a tired genre. While it has some of the usual elements of war films, it never feels predictable, even though anyone who's got half a brain can guess how it will end. But that doesn't matter because it's what happens to this group of guys along the way that makes the story so good. The journey you go on with this tank crew is so gripping, you can almost smell the gasoline and sweat.

Some films rely on twists and turns to trick you into thinking they're good and sometimes they actually are. FURY doesn't reinvent the wheel but rather refinishes it, makes it new and interesting again. No CGI, shot on film, a great cast given direction by David Ayer(End Of Watch, Training Day, The Fast & The Furious) I don't know what more I really need to tell you, just go see it, thank me later.

How does it compare to Saving Private Ryan? That's my WWII benchmark.

Haven't seen it but want to. Heard the Tiger used was the real thing. Not a prop. Of course same goes for the Sherman those are far more common.

It is up there. Saving Private Ryan will be near impossible to top because of its use as WWII standard but Fury is most certainly running alongside it. Some of the characters are really similar in some respects and the chemistry is great. The tense moments in the movie are greatly amplified because the characters are pretty much trapped with each other with nothing but a few inches of steel separating them from sure death.

Definitely going to be one of my top favorites for a while to come and your description is 100% spot on.

I cannot wait to see it. Good tanker movies are few and far between. Now if we can get a realistic movie about the battle of 73 easting/Norfolk I would be happy.

I always liked a good war movie, the trailer looked good. I'll have to see it.

That Ma Deuce..... A few years ago there was someone making new-production semi-auto versions, but I can't find them now.

I just want that POWMting POWMting POWMting POWMting action in my life.

And my Grandfather was a browning .30 cal gunner (but not on a tank), so I want an m1917 pretty badly too.

I rate FURY a 1944/10

good tank movies are hard to find.

This one is up there, its russian. russians take tankers seriously.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Ta…

The tanks were rattling like a thunder

The soldiers went to their last fight

And here they carried young commander

With head all broken outright

An armor-piercer hit his vehicle,

So say good-bye to his Guards crew.

Just four more corpses in the hillside

Will add to fair morning view.

And as the vehicle is burning,

Wait for the shells to detonate.

You want to live and see next morning,

But you're too weak and it's too late.

When they extract us from the wreckage,

They'll put our bodies in a strip.

Then salvos by our turret gunners

Will set us down to our last trip.

Yup, all the tanks were real, they went to pretty insane lengths to get the correct gear for every aspect of the film.
