Probably because it wasn't a production car. They only made one and had $3.4 million to play with, so comparing it to a production car wouldn't be fair. If they did, they might as well start comparing them to cars that were designed to break speed records and the C1000 still wouldn't truly be the fasted car in the world. You could make an argument for fastest street legal car, but once you give something an award for "the fastest non-production street legal car" it becomes too specific to actually carry any weight.
