Well as many of you know I'm trying to sell the R. I've got a few bites but honestly my plan would be to take the money from it and get a convertible. I want to see if anyone would be willing to trade for one. How do I list this? Just do the $1 and put TRADE in the title? Or is there a better way? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

offer it for sale for whatever price is reasonable, state you are interested in trades. Either you'll trade it, or you'll sell it and use the money for another car.
Why selling so soon?

Please don't put $1 in the title. Just put trade in the description, and list a higher price.
Wait a sec, if you can't afford two cars at once why are you trying to trade? Haha.

Instead of putting $1, I usually put the price I think my car is worth. That helps people figure out quickly if their car may be a compatible trade. And in the title put FS/FT.

if you put $1 in the title you'll get nothing but offers from lowballing dickheads.
put the sale price as a bit more than what you'd be happy to sell the car for, that way you've got room to move so the buyer thinks they're a good negotiator.

I had a bit of a reality check when the car killed itself at the gas station and scared me into a $1500 repair bill (so glad it was only a loose hose). But I began looking things up more and realize its just a bit too complicated and expensive for me.
Also I've wanted a convertible forever now. Its just getting to be perfect outside now in SW Fl

I thought you were selling because you were allowed/afford one car... confusion...

Long story really but its more so that i can't afford to keep it running. That ETM scare made me realize just how fucked I will be if something happens. If I could get a cheap convertible thats older and I can easily fix myself (and has a ton of parts available) I'd be much better off.

But isn't that what the Civic is for?
What kind of older convertible did you have in mind?

I've got it listed now just for sale but Im getting offers that are just a bit too low. And honestly if I sell I would just turn around and buy a convertible so this might work out better.

We have sort of embraced the four car driveway well enough now. And really its not so much I cant afford the car but I cant afford the repairs and upkeep. The ETM scare made me realize how dead I will be when something big happens. I need something cheap and easy to fix. And its convertible time now

Do NOT put $1 as the price. It wastes everyone's time because they have to try and figure out what *you* think it's worth.
When I search for cars on CL I always set a minimum price of $250 for the search. It weeds out people who don't put a price, people who list stuff like "2013 Chevy Sonic - $149" because they want you to assume their lease, and people who just put $1.
My roommate likes to call up people on CL who list their vehicle at $1 and offer them a buck for it.

That's craigslist for you. I just think putting it at $1 will bring even more of them out of the woodwork.

Ok, well good luck with the sale and hope you find something fun that's reliable.

I've got it up for sale now but the offers just arent high enough. And my plan is to take the money and get a convertible anyway... so why not try this

Cheap older convertible, easy to fix and has a ton of parts available? The answer is always B-body.

I would love something older like that. shame no chance in hell it'd fit in my driveway

I'd still put your price in the title, but also say trade in your tag line. It drives me nuts when people don't put a price or put $1 on CL, so I usually put like a $100 minimum...so I wouldn't even see your post.

I know so I might be better off just combining the two

very true.. I just wish they had a dedicated section to car trades.. be so much better

Not fully sure yet honestly. I got an offer for a Miata with a 5 speed manual I actually am considering

I'll probably get like 50 comments telling me how I'm wrong.
But the NA Miata isn't exactly reliable.

But at least they have a huge aftermarket following and tons of parts available.. i dont know this is why i need people to make me offers!!!

-Scared of expensive repairs
-Looking for a convertible
Old vert's are gonna need new tops eventually.

I see you like living life on the edge :P

I will kill you if you put $1. Just put your asking price and say you're also interested in trades.

Technically, there is - the "barter" page. Just put in the ad that you're only looking for a convertible car.

Then get a bigger driveway. When my great-uncle bought his '76 Delta 88 new and brought it home, it wouldn't fit in the garage. So he had the garage made bigger.

You might be getting ripped off there - I've got a guy with an automatic NA Miata that wants to trade it for my $1200 computer.

He also was putting like $500 up on the table. Im really thinking about it because it might be fun to drive around

Man, how much is a V70R worth these days?

Ive got a 2000 with 130,000 miles... KBB Fair has it around $5,000
Im asking $3000 because it does have a rebuilt title (it was stolen, not wrecked) and it needs a bumper
