For something like this, it's diesel of GTFO. Gotta have that D.

My thought exactly. I'd almost be willing to bet that was transplanted in; surely Chevy knew better than to put an engine that small in a truck that big.
Also, that's, like, easily the worst tranny Chevy's ever made. At least, in my limited experience with Chevrolet; between my mom & I, I've seen 3 of them go bad with less than 150k miles.

This thing needs a bigger motor - cummins 6bt would be the easy choice.
check out the 4x4 van in the background -

Nope, the 350 was available in everything up to C70's. It was nearly as powerful as the 454 in the 80's.

Are those individual injectors?
![]() 10/20/2014 at 22:28 |

Most fuel injected cars do have separate nozzles. They just aren't as big.

The 454's of those years was a smogged out dog, and since it's in Colorado, that can't be changed. The 350 is actually the better engine in this case.

Didn't realize you couldn't take that pointless crap off. My condolences.

I mean you can, but IIRC Denver has INSANE emissions regulations.

Really? The 350 Suburbans I've owned have been pitiful compared to my Ford 460s. In a Suburban, with a loaded 4-horse trailer behind, you could barely break 65mph; whereas, we've towed 60' mobile homes with our Fords, and managed to reach 50mph with little trouble at all.
Hence, via some Sherock-style deduction, we arrive at either:
1) The 454 was gutless
2) both Suburbans we had were worn out
3) Suburbans are waaaaay heavier than an F-350 Crew Cab
4) Fords rule, Chevys drool
5) ALL OF THE ABOVE!
