Recently, I went to Atlanta to test drive GM's truck and SUV lineup. I mean, I was practically already in Atlanta, so I didn't really need to go far, but I did have to drive for several minutes to get to the event. Available offroading opportunities were minimal (nonexistent), but I persevered and still came up with the definitive ranking of GM's trucks and SUVs. Without further ado, here are the top five trucks and truck-based SUVs in the GM lineup.
1) GMC Canyon
2) GMC Sierra Denali
3) Chevrolet Colorado
4) GMC Yukon Denali
5) Chevrolet Silverado

1987-1998 GMT 400 trucks are the best GM trucks. They will literally last forever.

I actually brought up the El Camino revival now that the Chevy SS exists. The response was something along the lines of, "You know no one would buy that, right?"

Well, it's not like anybody else is offering a ute at the moment. Nor even a real compact truck. I once heard it stated (I think someone on Oppo was quoting someone) that the people who buy utes are a distinct sub-group that aren't normal truck buyers, so until they actually try, they won't know who will and won't buy it. Whatever market *does* exist is surely untapped, and Marketing 101 is that you can create a market for something that doesn't exist if it has unique selling points. I'm quite confident that there are thousands in a band stretching from Mississippi to southern VA that will buy one.
I mean, I own a ute and probably wouldn't buy a new Elky, but that's more because I'm a Ford man than that I wouldn't like it. The Dale Earnhardt hardcore Heartbeat of America Chevy fans? All over that, I'm quite sure.

but no one is buying SSs either. So whats the harm in having a few of the UTE versions brought over here to. I mean it's not like there would be any RnD, the car already exists. It just needs a bowtie, and the same LHD conversion that the Commodores get.
And it would kind of be like a Wrangler. If you want a small body on frame, solid axle SUV you get a Wrangle because what else are you going to buy. The El Co has fans, and a fallowing so there would be a buyer for it.
Also lets not forget that America loves trucks so much that people bought this.
