Rule #1 of project cars: Never do the math.
I broke this rule with my computer.
In the four years that I've had it, I've spent over $1400 on the computer itself and another $511 just on games on Steam.
Holy fuck what have I been doing with my life

As long as Air Control isn't one of those games you're doing just fine.
If it is, go seek help.

Why did you buy 200+ games

I wish I'd only spent that amount.

There's nothing wrong with spending money on something that makes you happy if you can afford it. I don't even want to know what I've spent on beer this year.

It's okay. I'm in a similar hole. This current PC probably cost around $1400 as well. And I keep looking for opportunities to upgrade.

I have no idea how much I've spent on my house, and I don't want to know.

A house is one thing, it's a sturdy and long-lasting structure that can support your family.
My computer is a metal box that sucks my life away while I fuck around in Photoshop removing kidney grilles from BMW's.

In the past month I've replaced the power supply (Ultra LS600 to EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B2) and CPU cooler (Corsair H70 to Corsair H100). I was looking at RAM next (either 4x4GB or 4x8GB) and a better GPU, but no more.
I put it up on Craigslist.

It makes me happy but it's also ruining my fucking life because I'll sit on the computer instead of doing work or having a social life

Yeah... I stopped buying games ten years ago for precisely this reason.

Over the last 4 years, you've spent 481.7 hours playing your Steam library, which includes 128 items, has a current price of $1855.88, and requires 608.5 GB.
You've made 92 store transactions on Steam.
34 of those are product redemptions on Steam for external purchases (Steam doesn't know how much you paid).
The total amount spent on your Steam account (within Steam) on store transactions can be seen to the right. These totals include store purchases, wallet funding, gift purchases, and in-game purchases.
Your Steam wallet currently contains $0.00

Same rule for computers and cars. Can hold for guns, sports, alcohol, bunch of other things too. It's worth it if you enjoyed it that much.

Well then you're clearly doing just fine and have nothing to worry about.

There's a website that shows you the time, current value, and size of your steam library.
There's another one that opens in line with your My Account page and actually totals up what you have spent. I found both by doing a Google search for "steam library calculator".
