I've never been to an autocross, but isn't that a bit overkill for it? I imagine there is a useful horsepower limit to autocrossing...

It's absolutely overkill, but it'd still be fun

The GT3, obviously

What if the engines were switched?

No doubt! I definitely wouldn't turn it down if some gave me the chance to autocross it!

What do you mean? It would still out handle the Sonic

Oh, not necessarily at this autocross.

I just went to the largest northeastern event of the year. Major dump to come (and not just because I had Five Guys AND McDonald's today)
![]() 10/19/2014 at 19:51 |

Seriously, can you give me a breakdown of how these events are run?
I'm baffled. We had 32 cars today. 2 heats of 16. 5 runs. Runs took about 53 seconds on average, a car starting every 30 seconds. Each heat took about an hour from start of the parade lap to last car finished. We took a lunch break for about 20-30 minutes then did it again. First car out at 10, last car in at 3.
That was super efficient for us, I can't comprehend doing it any faster. How you get 100+ cars in a day is beyond me.

Here's how it goes.
We started at 9:45.
The day was split into 3 heats.
Everyone got one heat to run, one heat to work, and one heat to rest/eat lunch/whatever.
Cars went off about every 10 seconds. (FUCKING SPRINTING TO CONES YO)
We ended at 3:45.
We got 4 runs.
Which is amazing for the 170+ people that were there.

It's the venue and number of workers then. How many workers are out on course?
I don't think it would be possible for us to send cars out that quickly since we are on a runway, unless the runs were only 30 seconds or so, and sometimes we get held up because we can only have so many corner workers so we occasionally have to hold start to fix the course.
I really need to go to an AutoX like yours, it seems like it'd be pretty fantastic.

55 workers are theoretically on course at a time. Around 50 second long course.
Dude, with like 80 people, this region is the most fun thing ever. There was just so many people today...
Here's another teaser!

This one tracks at the local place. No autocross for it. Thats why it has numbers on its windows
