The hypermiling article on the FP got me thinking about it. What's your best average on a decent length of time (lets say over 100 miles minimum). My trip computer indicates 54.8mpg (I'm told that's 45.6mpg in Murican) in just over 800 miles, thats a mix of town, motorway and some thrashing on country roads. I know trip computers arent 100% accurate but not many of us can be bothered to work out the exact numbers.
Also no electric cars with equivalent mileages, that's cheating, so are plug in hybrids. Normal hybrids are okay.

My Sonoma got 20.3 mpg once!

You're in the UK, right? you are going to have to convert your MPG then; in which case you are getting 45.6 US mpg (larger imperial gallons). My personal best is 48 over 300 miles.

On a good week I've got it down to as low as 16 mpg! Hoon all the things.

My A6 has 20.4mpg indicated. That is over about 2500 miles. Thar is city, highway, and some backyard hooning

The Dakota averages 18.7, so far the S40 has got us I think around 24.5, and the 900 gets unlimited or zero, depending on how you look at it

I've just returned from a 800-mile trip. I've averaged 42mpg. Driven mostly at 70mph.
Could've done better, though. Kept the AC on 80% of the time.
Edit: Writing this now made me realize it's actually quite impressive.

'96 Camry got 26 MPG- all highway at 70-75. '10 Honda Fit got 38 MPG on a highway jaunt. '13 Dodge Caravan got 19 MPG with 4 people and luggage in mixed driving.

My '96 Ford Fiesta does 76mpg on long trips, 60mpg in the city.. Edit: fucked up when converting from euro standards to US standars.

The last time I did the math on a tank, I was getting a little over 7MPG city.
Mind you, my tires were low on air, I had my windows down, I was running on 10 year old spark plugs, and a few other issues. It's probably gone up, only slightly.

~53 mpg on a 250 mile trip. 4 adults, 1 child, A/C on the whole way.

Ah yes I forgot about that, I'll add it to the post.

Damn it, I am disqualified. I was going to gladly show this (Fusion Energi)

My best was 33 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I got close to that on a few other tanks as well. Normally I got 25-27 in that car. No readout, calculations done at fill-ups.

Man that's really high for an older car, my girlfriends 1 litre micra with a fresh service struggles to get 40 mpg.

I think you have the record for highest consumption so far.

I rebuilt the engine though. AND I've done some hypermiling mods on it.

Imp mpg, do your own conversion if needs be.

11 mpg, who's your god now Greenpeace!

Ah that makes more sense then. I'm sure after a service and with more hypermiling and less runs up the back roads I'd be around 65 ish. The brick shape of my car doesnt help though.

Wow, what car is this. I think that's a ford cluster?

I can tell you who doesnt...
My best out of my cars
K1500 20mpg (but that was at 55mph for 150 miles)
4th gen Camaro 28mpg (back and forth from college)
4th gen Accord 30mpg (havent had the car long enough to try and hyper mile it but as my DD it does well for a 22 year old car)

Focus 1.6D. Actually borrowed from my father for a long trip, it does a lot less on short journeys. I had it in sixth almost throughout and at one stage it was doing about 73.

Over 12,000 miles my 2014 Fusion has averaged 26.5 MPG.
My Monte Carlo gets roughly 10 MPG city 17 hwy.

We used a 2007 1.6d focus estate for a long trip recently, it only got about 40 ish mpg. It did have 130k miles on it though.

No, wait, that's not what I meant.

I once did 30 mpg in the dead of winter, so no A/C. I even performed percussive maintenance on my dashboard because I thought the fuel gauge was stuck.

I average 23mpg in my 87 Fiero GT. heck a couple long drives I have gotten 30mpg doing 70mph.

I average 16mpgs on my E46 and E90 M3s. E36 would get marginally better at 20. I drive too fast.

In LA, I got a Prius down to 6 mpg over a 40 mile journey
