No SR20s, but it's quiet for now. The police are on one side of the road, student protesters on the other with some barricades still erected and cement lying about. Cars that probably belong to some protesters are parked by the pavement, along with TV crew vans. Other motorists are forced to make illegal right turns and impromptu u-turns to get where they need to go. The main waterfront motorway is nearly silent and empty.

Uh. The pro-democracy protests that have been going on for the past two and a half weeks blockading major parts of Hong Kong, calling for the resignation of the current Chief Executive & the establishment of universal suffrage, resulting in the use of violence, pepper spray, tear gas and violent conflicts?

I suppose it's not played out that much in Western media. It's big, trust me.

The U.S. media never covers anything important. They're too busy right now making everyone in America worried that they're going to catch ebola from thin fucking air.

I see updates on it nearly every day in the international section of a number of places. Don't think it's a media thing, it's readers not reading the international section.
