It's like a Cayenne, but without all the ugly bits.
It's still over two tons, which is outrageous for a car of its size, but the curves, combined with the hunkered-down stance, make it seem lithe. It's proof that crossovers (and concurrently any vehicle segment) can be designed in a manner that makes it better-looking than many classics.
Especially from the rear. It's so simple and elegant. Well done, Porsche!

it's nice but I still don't like the grille area.

I fully agree. I saw one this summer parked and I stopped for a minute or two because it was that pretty and cool

My wife's reaction to this was, and I quote " This is for soccer moms only interested in being able to say 'I drive a Porsche' but it isn't really a Porsche. A Porsche is a sports car that really isn't supposed to be practical at all other than to get the driver somewhere very, very fast. It isn't supposed to be about practicality at all."
I love that woman.

Meh. If I had to have a Porsche that wasn't a sports car, it would still be the Panamera because not crossover...

Your point?

Point is, Porsche's roots are in practicality. Plus, Lamborghini made the LM002.
Plus: nothing wrong with a company doing something different. Porsche tried a crossover and pulled it off better than anyone since its invention.

Have her test-drive one. Better yet, don't. :) They really are nice. I did not think I would like it, but checking one out in person changed my mind.

managed to follow one about 10 hours earlier and while it was before sunrise, the macan looked better than the cayenne.

If Porsche sold a Macan S Manuél I think I'd have to sell cars to buy it
