Kinja'd!!!2 Kinja'd!!! 0

From something I already submitted to the class:

Red Jewel

A soft breeze was blowing through the night.

My friend and I strolled out of my Garage to look at my gem of a car

He spoke excitedly as if he was an eager child,

Asking how fast it was

Laughing I told him not to get too excited

Slowly walking to the driver's door

grabbing the cool metal door handle

I thought man this thing sure shiny in the moonlight

Slowly lifting the door pops open

He does the same while I sit down in the slightly torn black vinyl seat

with surprise , he commented on how comfy the seats were

smirking I reply that it was a family car so it had to be

Pulling the doors shut they make a chunk sound like an old car.

I slide the key into the ignition of the red jewel of a Gran Torino

My hand slowly sliding over the ignition and I turn it with great vigor

soon the old engine roars to life with the revs reaching peak and falling to a nice burble

"Holy crap" proclaiming from the passenger's seat

"Oh ya, that's why I love this car. So good to listen to"

We pull out of the drive slowly and once in lined up aiming down the road

I punch the pedal to the floor and off we roar into the cool summer night.
