living in Va Beach I'm used to hearing all sorts of jet noises. What I'm not used to is being up on a pole on a site looking up to see these guys *right there*. First photo isn't zoomed in any. They were close enough that once the got more level eye sight you could see the flaps/ailerons (someone correct me) on the tail moving up and down. It made work more interesting.

The Naval Air Station Oceana is right near Virginia Beach and is home to maybe seventeen squadrons of F-18s. There's always a good chance of Hornet spotting around there. You must be in the landing pattern.

I was over off of Va Beach Blvd and Great Neck if familiar with the area. I'd guess so since they were all taking the same path

Torch has more empty beers on his desk than that at 10am. To be fair, he's just waking up and crawling out from under his desk at that point, but it's still accurate.
