Driving the other day I see a pickup Honda Ridgeline driving with crap like a dresser and mattresses in the box and the tailgate down. As I approached it, I noticed that NOTHING appeared to be holding the load in place. I then backed wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off. The last thing the Cavalier needs is a dresser to the hood!
At a traffic light I pulled up beside them and told them that driving without their crap strapped down is dangerous as all hell. They said "it's fine thanks for the tip then". I then said "For the love of God do not get on the freeway and take it easy."
Why are people so dumb? Everything carries it's own momentum. If you have an accident with an unsecured load, your dresser then leaves your vehicle at 60 km/h to impale whatever gets in it's way. This is why you wear a seatbelt, to avoid becoming a projectile. Physics applies equally to humans and loads. Put on your loads seatbelt.
Strap it down. You do NOT want to be responsible for killing some kid because you tried to save a few bucks.

Just asked my wife about my load becoming a projectile if it doesn't get wrapped up. It's all fun and games until someone gets impaled or an eye poked out.
