Every spring and fall, I play hooky on a Thursday and go to the big Collector Car Swap Meet in Carlisle, PA. Sometimes I buy odds and ends for my '65 Chevy, sometimes I pick up stuff to feed my HO scale slot car habit, sometimes I just spend the day wandering up and down the aisles amidst acres and acres of boxes of other car guys' old castoff junk. It is glorious. I went the first week of October, and I got it in my head to take a whole assload of pictures of the most Jalop stuff I could find there and post it on Oppo. This is the first chance I've had to try to share it. Here goes:
(You'll notice a lack of OMG CHEVELLE MUSTANG '69 CAMARO!!! Don't get me wrong, I love me some iconic muscle and pony cars, but there's zillions of them on the intarwebs.)

Just wow.
I'm generally not into prewar cars, but I was thoroughly smitten by this badass Cadillac.
I've always had a thing for fat chicks, so this '76 Cutlass seemed like a pretty good deal to me.
This Lincoln project made me think of what the movie The Car would have been like if it was made in 1951.
You can satisfy all kinds of four-wheel fetishes at Carlisle...
...and some two-wheel ones too. I was very sad that I couldn't take this home. A '60s Ross Barracuda with this frame style is on my bicycle bucket list.

Never even knew there was an anniversary edition like this. Apparently there's some confusion about anniversary editions commemorating Pontiac, and the Firebird, and the Trans Am.
This Olds was breathtaking.
And this Nash was pretty darn cool too.

I desperately wanted one of these in high school.
And speaking of high school, back in the day, my buddy's older sister had one of these and he taught himself to drive stick on it, doing lots of damage in the process. I'm thinking CP on this one.

I've always wanted to go to Carlisle but living on the other side of the country it's not really practical. I couldn't fly because then it would be a pain and/or expensive to get the parts home and driving would take too long. I'm tempted to go just for the experience but there is no way I could be around all of those goodies and not buy stuff.
