Or at least lives in Maryland, even if you're not from there... And what part of the state? Western end of the state here, in the mountains.

I'm a 5 minute drive from Maryland! But I can't put one of those crab stickers on my car. Because I am a Virginian. And I will always be a virgin! Freudian slip there, whoops.

I would never marry the land (pun intended) because I'm a prostitute because I'm from Idaho (pun also intended).

Grew up MD and DC - most of my life until 18 in Rockville MD. Mom (81) finally sold the giant house I grew up in last year, moved to Leisure World. A four level split - she could have busted a hip going up and down those stairs! http://www.cbmove.com/property/detai…
I also briefly owned a home in Twinbrook, on Ardennes Avenue. A previous girlfriend wound up with that.

In southern MD - I'd say that I'm about 30-40 min from Baltimore and D.C.

I grew up in Bedford County, PA, after I was five, but we were five minutes from the rest of the family in Cumberland, MD where we had lived prior... Valley road was my B-road until I moved north to Altoona, PA - and switched to Kettle road. The former has good elevation changes, but a very difficult road surface. No straight part of roadway is followed in straight line because the paving is so terrible and has so many deformities. The latter has awesome elevation changes and two sets of mean corners going up and down the mountain. Man, I loved growing up in the valleys of mountains.

Wow. Glad to meet somebody nearly as local to me. I've been here almost my whole life. That's quite something. Do you still come to Cumberland often?

I just moved to nyc on the last day of July, but I was in Cumberland for a couple of months between living in Pittsburgh and here. Because NY is so far, and definitely the furthest I've ever lived from home, I doubt I'll get back as much until I start making some real money.
Yeah, I had no idea you were posting from Cumberland when I responded to this initial post.
Are you familiar with Potomac Valley Industrial Supply? My family created that business before going bat-shit crazy and causing it to end up in the Weimer's hands. It's bittersweet, because if the family hadn't lost it, I'd be running that bitch right now. A large majority of my being is glad I got out.
You'll have to keep me updated on the car culture from back-home!

Gotcha. I've heard of the company but I wasn't aware of the business politics of it. Kind of amusing in a way, as my step dad's last name is Weimer, but he lives in West Virginia and has nothing to do with Potomac valley industrial. Still odd though, in a way. I don't blame you for being happy for getting out of the area. Crime is kind of rough and it's just gone downhill a bit.
As far as car culture here though, I will update you. It's still a bit odd, as it's a low income area, as you know, but there are a lot of brand new cars and a fair number of rare exotics, and classics of course. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Emerick family, but they have a viper and a prowler at every case show. The viper is a first gen RT/10 and it's pretty wicked. But yeah, I'll keep you updated, man. Enjoy the big apple!

I've never seen those in my life. I suppose it counts though.
