Does one get GM syncromesh from a GM dealer? I've heard it's better than the Honda stuff (it's going in a 2000 5MT Accord).

Dealer yes. But Ive seen it muuch cheaper at parts stores. They dont all carry it, you may have to hunt for it.

Royal Purple Synchromax is just as good too. Look at Pepboys for both I think...

Side note:
I know we are talking about a Honda transaxle.
But for a T-56/TKO, or other Tremec trans SynchroMESH is good to use but SynchroMAX can damage the trans internals over time. Tremec says NO to RP Synchromax. I do not know if a Honda transaxle will have the same issues.
To the OP, check out Pennzoil Synchromesh. I *believe* they make it for GM. I run it.

Yeah Pennzoil Synchromesh should be even safer. A lot of Honda manuals from back when can run on MTF or motor oil.
