Third time's the charm, right? First set of struts lasted until summer, clunking ever since I put them on, so I replaced them once everything else in the front end was new JUST TO MAKE SURE, and the noise was gone. For a bit. Then the right front began clunking, then the ride got... funny. So I swapped it today. It was blown. And the mount is shot. GG MONROE QUICK STRUTS.
I wonder how long this one will last.
I getting pretty pro at swapping struts. Had it out and replaced in 10 minutes, with time to take pics and swear at the leaky 2-month old replacement.
DAMN YOU.
MMMMMMM, fresh shock oil....
Oh, and here's the rears. Just about a year old and already looking rusty and both dust boots are torn.
Guess I should have spent a few bucks more and got KYB's. Oh well.

Odd, I have a set of quick struts on the rear of my Neon, and they've got almost 50k of problem free miles on them.
Has it consistently been your fronts that go bad? Are they aligned correctly? Do you drive through a minefield often?

Yes, yes, yes (Milwaukee roads are quite poopy).

But then again I put KYG GR2's on my Subaru, with Group-N mounts and new-used Outback springs and took that thing off roading all over the place and after 30k they were like new.

I put 70k on a set of GR-2's and they were still good.
Did you warranty the Monroes? 2 months is bullshit.

I've never had good luck with Monroe, nor have I had good luck with KYB... I did just throw some Monroe shocks and struts on a Saab, but I'm selling it so I don't really care how long they last.

I did. If this set takes a shit, I'm making my Napa store give me KYBs instead. Or I'll spend my $30k a month over at Advanced Auto.

I've never kept a car long enough to need shocks before... the Subaru was just Because Lift. I swear, if I could've gotten cheap coil overs for the Camry I would, but no one makes a set.
