They're not all that bad. I drove a 2009 one once, I didn't *enjoy* it but it wasn't the worst thing in the world either.

You don't have to confess. The 8th gen Civic is a great car! Even better if you're in Canada and can get a CSX with some more luxury and prestige (and heated seats too). Oh yeah I'd love to get a CSX Type S!

I learned to drive a manual in an Civic very similar to that one. The clutch is a little tricky compared to other cars I've driven, but it's a nice little car.

I had an '07 Si. Great car. Nothing to be ashamed of. Go for the EX with all the goodies. Biggest reason: rear discs. The DX and LX have drums out back.

Get a high mileage early one. They're dirt cheap, and there's a recall on the blocks leaking coolant because they get porous. Honda will replace your short block under warranty if you're eligible.

I had an 08 Lx 5-speed for 6 years. It was a great little reliable car but I got bored with it. It was perfect for me through college.

I rock this generation Civic (coupe) even with an automatic. Well, sort of. It's got a K20Z3 swap because the person I bought it from was quite possibly mad. (I call her my "Franken-Si.) Weird car, but I'm not gonna complain. Sure, it's not the fastest thing ever, but it feels damn quick and can take a corner amazingly well.
