For those of you whom recall, I've been attempting to sell my XS650 bobber for some time now (since June). Mostly tire kickers and low ballers. I'm not really looking for trades, since I am planning to move, but for once, the offer does not look like 100% pure grade shit.
I have no clue what one of these is worth, or if I could get rid of it any quicker than my bike.
Any thoughts Oppo?

For reference, this is my bike he wants to trade for.

If I had the money, I'd wire you the funds ASAP for that bike.

I got a similar offer on my 1964 F-100 from a dude with a (I think chopped) '40s Chevy. I was all about it, but he quickly lost interest. I think that car is beautiful personally and if it checks out alright and you're wanting a project car, then why not? I think you're probably getting good trade, but then I don't think it's a 1:1 dollar thing in this situation but more "I don't want this bike, but I really like your car" kinda nice trade.

I have no idea what it's worth, but when I clicked the picture all I could think was: "CONCENTRATE ALL YOUR FIREPOWER ON THAT STAR DESTROYER!"

I have no idea how much they cost, but it looks like it's got some interesting modifications. Check out the pinstriping on the bonnet and that curious hole on the right fender...

Well thats the thing, If I had time / space / $ to build the Caddy I would be all about it. But I have another project bike and a busted ass DSM in my garage, and I am trying to have my house listed by January to sell and move, so another project isn't really in the cards right now.

If it is the real thing and not a bondo-buggy and runs well, then I'd say it's a fair trade. Go for it.

Sedans are the least desired. OK condition drivers tend to go for 8-15k. Hard to tell from those pictures but it looks tired, and it doesn't list mechanical condition. Since it hasn't moved in a month and 6k is below normal market, I'd guess something's shot and needs reworking so it wouldn't be a quick turnaround.

Well then there's your answer!

Your bike is absolutely gorgeous. Too bad I'm poor, and you're very far away. GLWS!

I emailed him for more info on the condition but have not heard back. I would like to hear mechanically sound in need of cosmetics but this is craigslist so probably "it run good, leaak a bit, body good, int good" which translated into reasonable human speak means the engine is fucked becasue its been leaking oil / coolant / both for 6 months and I never thought to add more, body is rusty, pitted, dented and bondod over but its physically mostly all there, and the interior is torn and smells like cat piss and cigarettes but there is no springs sticking through the seats so its good...

Yes Yes, But I am really bad at making the right decision and the desire to drive a 50's Caddy may overwhelm my ability to make sound decisions...

Thanks.

lol I mean at least go check it out. It would be rude not to, right?
Who knows, it might not be as good as you think. Look at Tuned-Port-Injection-Rage's post from the other day. He ended up keeping his 86 Vette because the 92 vette was crap

Not a fastback, but it is a fintail. That's a pretty epic Cad all things considered.

Nothing. Literally. Nothing. I put it in the corner... I have been doing Jeep work and trying to finish my damned DSM.

Personally I would take that trade in a heart beat if the caddy is driveable.
