Nobody wanted to pay $80k for a Corvette with a smaller motor and slightly better interior.

You should park the Murdersofa next to it, and then you'd have Murdersofa and Resurrectionsofa

Dat Buick. Only white car I'd ever consider would be a GM product in white diamond tricoat.

White Diamond tricoat. I knew there was an "official" name rather than "pearlescent".

You can get it on everything above compact now, but when that Buick was made it was fairly exclusive to Cadillac and Buick.

I wish they had those colors back in the 90s on the Riviera. A Riv in that color would be stunning.

Dear lord why did they stop making this?!

Because it didn't sell all that well?

The XLR didn't really offer that much more than a fully loaded Corvette (on which it was based), which was about $20,000 cheaper when new and packed 110 horsepower more. Furthermore the XLR came up short in terms of maximum performance and interior detailing when compared to its similarly priced rivals from Germany and Great Britain.

So the answer should probably be: 'Bad business-case'?

However, there's an advantage to the fact they were low-demand cars. They're rare, and relatively cheap, all things considered.

This one stickered at $99,999 brand-new

There's a totaled Park Avenue Ultra with a good engine for sale for $600 and I want it so bad to dump the engine in the murdersofa.

From what I remember, the XLR sold horribly. It might have done better the first year or so, but it was one of those things where it had no staying power after everyone that wanted one bought one. It was also substantially more expensive than a Corvette, but offered no performance or quality advantages.

Eh, they stopped making the XLR because it was crap.

Wasn't that quick and it handled like a SUV. All the inconveniences of a Corvette without the speed, practicality, gas mileage, or handling ability. It was the car manifestation of a trophy wife. Looks good and only bought by old people.
