I found this near my new office in Alexandria today. It's pretty rough inside. The spare tire is sitting on the passenger seat.

That's an 1988+ 2WD 7 passenger model. (G or GL, can't tell)

but it has nice 15-16" Merc (or lookalike) alloys on it.

You missed a Vanagon at C&C this weekend. It was one of the first WRX swaps. Porsche wheels, three speed auto.

The Transporter or the Golf? As far as I know you can only choose between TDIs on the Transporter, no gas engines available. I could be wrong though. It just seems so odd, a gas engine in a work vehicle.
