Usually, these quizzes are BS and ask you to identify Renault's logo or something. This one from carthrottle.com, however, is pretty legit. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and share your score. I got a 77% :/

94% 17/18!
For the record, I missed the 3/4" wrench metric equivalent...
![]() 10/06/2014 at 12:50 |

94%, only because I clicked "differential" instead of "clutch" for the throwout bearing.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 12:50 |

94% I missed the wheel lug question. The wording was a bit misleading lol. I knew what it meant though. Not bad.

83%.
Couldn't remember if 3/4" was 17 or 19 mm. Guessed wrong.

![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:13 |

94% , the 3/4" to 19mm was the one that threw me off. Thought it was 18mm
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:16 |
|
100% bitches!
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:20 |

Woohoo! 100%. But then again, I am a trained mechanic (but not practicing) so I should have gotten 100%.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:23 |
|
61% while being constantly distracted by work. Yeah, that's the reason.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:23 |

77%
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:24 |

94%, but I think the axle ratio question was a trick one.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:25 |
|
Oh yeah "True Gear Head." Can't believe I missed the 19mm wrench.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:26 |

100%. (I WAS a mechanic in a previous career track...)
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:33 |

Legit? What's up with all the ancient measurements used? Didn't we move to metric in the 19th or early 20th century? Are those measurements still used on vehicles past the steam era?
![]() 10/06/2014 at 13:52 |

94%...not an off-road guy so I missed the first dam one.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 14:01 |

oh my god I made 66%.
hanging my head in shame...
![]() 10/06/2014 at 14:05 |

![]() 10/06/2014 at 14:24 |

Perfect score, really is a lot of common sense stuff.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 14:39 |

pretty easy questions
![]() 10/06/2014 at 14:42 |
|
89. Not a bad little quiz.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 14:52 |

I am too ashamed to show my score. Does that mean I am not a gear-head? No, it means I don't have mechanical knowledge.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 15:23 |
|
77%, which is way better than I thought I'd do
![]() 10/06/2014 at 15:28 |

A couple of errors in the quiz. "Backfire" always refers to fuel/air mixture burning "back" through the intake . If you're talking about burping flames, the word you're looking for is " afterfire ."
Regarding the spark plug one, I've never heard of a "ground electrode." The terminology I'm familiar with is central electrode and lateral or side electrode.

Apparently, all the gearhead. 100%
Also, that tire question is wrong. The 10.50 in that example is the section width at the widest point.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:26 |
|
77% because I am not a pro, haha. That should have been a longer quiz, too.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:32 |

94% because I went with an 18mm instead of 19mm to use instead of a 3/4" wrench. Fuck that. A real car person has both sets.
