My cars and coffee this morning was 38 degrees and rushed. Looks to blend in with the other super cars, and ferrari 458 quite well.

Nice pictures! In Dallas there was one just like this today. The only difference is my pictures are terrible because everyone blocked my way! Really cool car in person. Drew a big a big crowd.

On another note, I was talking to a guy who worked for a BMW dealer and brought an i3 to an event.

I mentioned, "Yeah, someone on one of the forums I'm part of got his i8 delivered"

He said in the most pompous way ever, "Oh yeah? Well OUR dealership delivered one 2 weeks ago."

Something thats been bugging me about the i8: Ive never seen one in person, but every photo Ive seen of one from the rear makes it look very tall. How tall is it at its tallest point?

50 inches. It's about 1 inch taller than a SLS, ~3 inches taller than a 458, same height as an F-Type.

Put 860 miles on it this weekend. Another thousand in the next two weeks on a vacation trip. It's a 2014 model, I expected it in March (they kept delaying the launch), and winter is quickly approaching...I'm playing catchup.

Nothing really to compare it to. The literature they give dealers says to compare it to the R8 V8 and 911 Carerra 4 when customers ask but those are both variants of cars I've already owned before: Conventional internal combustion engines sports cars. At less than $800k there really is nothing else like the i8. I wanted something different. Something that provided a different driving experience and it's giving that to me in spades. It's hard to explain in any other way than it feels different and special compared to anything I've ever driven before. I think I like it more than the SLS...and I never would have expected that a week ago.

Are you planning to put stickier rubber on it? Heard the rubber put on it from the factory is a bit lacking.

Nah, I haven't experienced any understeer yet and with the current rubber it's whisper quiet when cruising. Sticker rubber would probably help in the few occasions where I'm really pushing it but would make the road noise (which is the only real noise if the stereo is off an you're in electric mode) a lot louder and annoying. We'll see. But for now it's fine.

How's the acceleration feel? I know the I3 sounds pretty amazing.
