After finding out !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ;
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I started my car without the keys today, and decided to go for a drive. I got no more than 20m down the road before the steering lock engaged what the jim-tooting diddly??! Hammered the anchors and came to a stop neatly at the side of the road, and I flicked the sidelight switch to kill the engine, but it stayed on. Pressed the orange button back in, but it stayed on. I had to purposefully stall to kill it. My joy of yesterday quickly diminishing, I now realise that while I can start my car without the keys, it's absolutely pointless as I need the keys to turn it off, and to disengage the steering lock, and to generally continue existence. Party trick OVER.

That's worryingly impressive! How did you first find out?

My ford tempo did that too! I found out because one day I needed a key off my ring and removed the car keys. The car kept running.

Just tried to pull the key out when it was running one time and it slid right out
