... 1999. I know it's an option for the ST series but good Lord, I found myself close to sliding the rear end of my bike on an emergency stop.
I was on Pacific HWY to get gas down at Shell when the next thing I knew? Red and blues come flying on from two cop cars in front of me as they suddenly blitzed down S Tacoma Way. I literally had a choice: Break the law or skid. Because I didn't want to get busted, I skid and nearly soiled myself with the look of utter horror hidden well under my HJC helmet.
To this day, I wish ABS was a standard for Honda's Bikes.

the only company to have it standard across the line up is BMW, and that started in 2005 IIRC.
Honda offers it on some of their bikes. but not all.

I can Confirm BMW's ABS being a common option, my father's 2003 650GS has ABS, and so does his 2007 1200RT.

after 2005 ( think) it wasnt even an option anymore. all of the bikes had it

BMW started it back in the 80s, was on most/many since late 90s, now standard. It's nice, but bikes are also bigger and heavier with more power than they used to be..Like cars. Problem is it makes people lazy and reliant, like cars, but on a bike you have so much less margin for error. More miles, more practice, learn the art...

I get that, but i'm not going to lie, its GREAT having the safety net.
