Lets talk about car things.
Good fucking idea.
If you could rename the SS, what would you name it?
Since SS is a trim level and not a name of a car, let hypothetically say GM held a contest to rename Chevy's V8 sport sedan. What name would you submit?
I think I'd go for Caprice. Simply because the last gen Caprice was a big V8, RWD sedan, just like the SS.
This poses a problem though, the police version is called Caprice. So I think the name of that should be changed to Chevy PPV, or Chevy Police Patrol Vehicle.

Nova.

That'd be a good one, but would kinda go the same route Charger went. From big two door to sedan.

There was a Chevelle sedan.

It's too modern to use a throwback Chevy name, I think it would need a new name.
I can't think of a proper name atm though. Why not use the Holden's name: Commodore.

Only if a 2 door.

They made a 4-door.

I don't think it deserves Chevelle

How come?

There have been Chevelle sedans and wagons since the Chevelle nameplate was introduced back in 1963 or 1964.

Well shit, did not know that.
I'd assume, much like I just did, most people would associate it with this:

Errm, Chevelles were available as 4dr from the beginning in '63.

Commodore would be my second choice.

They did't make many, but some searching around the internets reveal that it was indeed a thing.

LOL. good chuckle from that one.

Commodore has a good ring to it and it continues the whole C naming scheme.

Commodore is good, but Chevy certainly doesn't have a C naming scheme.
Spark
Sonic
Cruze
Volt
Malibu
Implala
SS
Corvette
Camaro
Trax
Traverse
Tahoe
Suburban
Colorado
Silverado
Express
City Express
Only five have C names.
Also, didn't realize Chevy made so many cars.

Commodore SS.
Which means...you could sell the Commodore as the V6 base model.
The Commodore Calais/Calais-V as the Luxury packs.
The Commodore SS-V/Redline as an upped sports models.
Thus saving the Commodore from a fate worst then death...becoming some bullshit FWD Buick piece of shit.

SS is fine to me.
I would go with something new. No need to dig up an old name

Beretta. Wait no Lumina. That still sounds pretty modern.

Because it is too bland and it's a VXR just call it a Holden.

I would call it the BAMF.

Impala SS. Restore some glory to the name after this ruined it.

The modern FWD Buicks aren't pieces of shit... at least when you're not comparing them to a Commodore.
