I can't help, but see a face. The steering wheel buttons are eyes and the little hole below is the mouth.

Why oh why are all these tacked on screens popping up? MB does it too, it's awful. Looks like someone just mounted an iPad mini on the dash with a suction mount. Terrible.

It rotates forward (or down, depending on how you look at it) by 90 degrees, then it retracts in.

It should pop out on the A6 too. My brother has a 2013 and his does.
