Ah, fall. One of my favorite times of the year. The leaves are changing, the air gets cool and crisp, and murderous monsters, mutants, and psychos roam the land.
I like to immerse myself in the season and watch some of my favorite horror movies.
Below are some of my favorites, what are yours?
The Evil Dead (1981)
Halloween (1978)
Creepshow 2 (1987)
That synth intro by Rick Wakeman (of Yes) is so 80s and so great.
Session 9 (2001)
...and because this is Oppo: Maximum Overdrive (1986)
Dat soundtrack....

The original grainy black and white Night of the Living Dead still gives me the creeps.

The original Night of the Living Dead, every Halloween, every Nightmare on Elm Street, every Friday the 13th and more!! And this one is my oldest favorite flick, let's see if anyone recognizes this without an internet search. :)

I believe that would be Boris Karloff as Nosferatu. Classic.
EDIT: Not Boris Karloff.

Funny Games- the 2007 US remake (The 1997 original is phenomenal, but in German).
It's not just my favorite horror flick. It's my favorite movie. Full stop.

I second the original halloween — my personal favorite.
My others:
28 days later:
Silence of the Lambs (if that counts):
Original nightmare on elm street
Army of darkness (if that counts)
Texas chainsaw massacre
Of the newer ones, I thought Drag Me to Hell & the Insidious were pretty good.

Indeed it is! But it's actually Max Schreck. :)

It's one of those movies that isn't actually that scary, but will leave you psychologically fucked up for a little while. Those are the best kinds.
It actually gets very philosophical towards the end. Definitely worth watching. I've probably seen it (and this is not an exaggeration) at least a dozen times myself.

The original Gone in 60 Seconds, so many cars needlessly and brutally destroyed, crashed or wrecked...

The Halloween series were the first horror movies I ever saw and still my top choices. Specifically Halloween 3: Season of the Witch....haha, just kidding, everyone knows that is garbage, is not part of the series and shouldn't even exist...I really like Halloween, Halloween 2, and Halloween 6....other favorites:
The Shining
Dead Silence - I found surprisingly entertaining and who doesn't find ventriloquism dolls kinda creepy
Scream Quadrilogy - I love how it's mocking it's own genre
Evil Dead ('81)
Night of the Living Dead ('68)
any Friday the 13th
The Strangers was also surprisingly enjoyable
The Haunting ('63)
Audition
The Fly ('86)
Nightmare on Elm Street
Poltergeist
Psycho (obviously not the god awful Gus Van Sant remake)
I could go on and on...
