My vote is Solstice. It looks like a baby with a pacifier :'( Also, what is the law in your state.
I think we are supposed to have it here but police usually don't say anything. I got pulled over for speeding once a long while back and he just advised me to try and get a front plate. I never did though.
Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST also.

My F1 car looks absolutely stupid with front plates. Mostly because of the dick nose, though.

lol well dick nose is as bad as front plates I think :]

MN requires front plates, for now. Apparently they are on the way out. I hated the way my E30 looked with front plates.

All cars. I don't do front plates. I just don't care, I don't do it.

To my understanding, Utah is basically the same. Technically you're supposed to, but no one (including cops) ever seems to care. I don't even know anyone who's been advised on it after being pulled over.

lol, now that is just smart business.
lol dork

I guessing it looked something like my e28 form back in the day. Yeah, not too attractive. Hopefully they reverse it

right? One guy came into parts wanting a frame for his Vantage. He said a cop walking by told his to get one. I told him not to lol :]

According to the last cop I was stopped for a front plate by, the first of Jan. 2015 it will no longer be required.

I always thought the lines of the fatstang were broken up too much... good thing the license plate bracket is hidden under the bumper and requires no modification to add/remove a tag. The rarely seen Ford foresight.

oh dang, but yeah that's true

Front plates are required in Colorado but me and this Corvette owner are like, "nah." I've been ticketed three times for it since 2009. Still not doing it.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:07 |

For added fun, the rear bumper is the same way. You can drive the car the way it was meant to look by removing both license plates. :)

European plates look okay. US plates look stupid. Thank god Connecticut doesnt require front plates.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:10 |

Yeah I think whatI am thinking that yeah your "supposed to " have it but it's no biggie. I'm not sure how a plate can go on a C7. Awesome G8 dude! The other day I saw and M6 Grand Coupe, and SLS, and a clean blue G8..... my thoughts were "wooow, that is one rad G8"

NY requires a front plate but I never put one on my C300. I've been through numerous police check points, drive past numerous cops every time I drive and have stopped to talk to cops for directions and none of them ever mentioned it.
I believe to really get them to say something about it you have to have been pulled over for doing something else like speeding, running a red light, illegal turn. As long as you're not a douche they don't care.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:37 |

All of them...
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:39 |

The answer is always...
(first one I found in a GIS - sorry for the crappy quality). I had my Miata in NC. Front plates look AWFUL on that car. Later generations don't look as bad with one, but the NA ... it's awful. So sad.

Looks like a Texas plate.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:42 |

dang, maybe on the DMV website perhaps. I've seen them here on cars front and back
![]() 10/01/2014 at 11:53 |

You may be able to get away with it if you put your normal plate in the back window. I may try that with a few of my Euro cars.

I'll gladly pay child support, but I'll also fight for joint custody and/or visitation. Most of the girls I 'date' would balk at that and disappear. I'm more likely to get a bill for rotor rooting services.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:05 |

None. I don't really mind front plates.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:08 |

Can't you place it above the intake? Most European/foreign owners do it.
Other option is to fit it below the intake, which does make it look more aggressive, but that's rarer.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:08 |
|
weird!!! But i can respect that
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:10 |

I thought we were doing factory versions
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:12 |

We are, and the one I showed is too, but I was just asking. Can you move a front plate, e.g. under the excuse the plate is covering an intake?
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:14 |
|
I honestly don't have an answer to that, my car is exempt from running a front plate
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:17 |

$50 each time. I no longer park this car at a street meter. Garage or other car.

Only been ticketed once in 13 years of not running a front plate in So Cal. It was by a bored motorcycle cop. In general, cops really don't care.
Also, the worst is the RX8.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:47 |

With the Lada Niva's thin bumper, the plate (three times as tall as the bumper) looks goofy, sticking straight up and down in the middle of nowhere. Also, I can't even center it cause then it would cover the hole for the crank starter...
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:50 |
|
oh noooo. That is the WORST one so far!
![]() 10/01/2014 at 12:52 |

does it really have a crank starter? And yes the plate looks like nametag

Sonata Hybrid. Its like it just sucked up a license plate! Looks really bad when the plate is colored (like the bright yellow NJ)
Good thing that its an unattractive car to begin with
![]() 10/01/2014 at 14:41 |
|
there is no real place to put the plate the more I look at it. I think the car looks nice compared to Sonatas of the past lol. I rented a 2.0T not too long ago and it had some good pick up.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 15:51 |

I used to have a white NA Miata with a front license plate, and if you stood far enough back and squinted it looked like a little Hitler Charlie Chaplin mustache.

A hundred times, Focus ST.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 15:58 |

![]() 10/01/2014 at 18:05 |

clearly the answer is...GT-R:
![]() 10/01/2014 at 18:08 |
|
there really is no good place on there to put it on
![]() 10/01/2014 at 18:11 |
|
nope, my former neighbor had the dealership some kind of temporary setup on his GT-R where he could put it on or take it off as needed and when it was off, you couldn't see what they did or where. stupid illinois. actually, all cars are ruined by front plates!
![]() 10/01/2014 at 19:15 |

Sadly one of the previous owners misplaced the crank handle, but yes, it does have one, either as backup or else because it was cheaper to keep making the old ones. It also has an electric starter. Not having the handle burns a little cause the original starter let out about a month ago, and I've had to park it on hills and be very careful not to stall it. Hills aren't always easy to find in Saskatchewan... Fortunately just got the new starter into it today. Had to wait for it to ship across the Atlantic, and it was definitely on the slow boat.

Taking a trip back to the late 80s here..
The higher trims of the Vanagon. They gave us all a cutout, but it was the wrong shape.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 22:26 |

Yeah, that's pretty awful.
Fortunately for me, the C4 was build with front license plates in mind so it doesn't look so bad:

US plates are too tall for that to work without looking ridiculous. EU plates are nice and skinny.

Utter failure...

I HATE FRONT PLATES. SCREW EVERY STATE THAT HAS THEM. HOW DARE THEY DRILL HOLES IN MY BUMPER. URGH MAKES ME SICK.
![]() 10/01/2014 at 23:57 |
|
that's so dang odd. Is it just drilled in?
![]() 10/02/2014 at 05:25 |
|
I'm guessing they just only made one fiberglass bumper and put it on all the vans - no matter where they were headed.
Yes, you just drilled a few holes and mounted a bracket (much like everything else these days) Some dealers just thew some sheet metal screws in it and called it a day.
This is what I did.
I bought a novelty german plate that matched my VA registration. However, I eventually got tired of getting pulled over for no front plate, so I had to attach my front plate to the grill.
My bumper has several holes in it from previous plates.
![]() 10/02/2014 at 11:31 |

wow, I don't think anybody mentioned actually getting pulled over. Awesome plate! Here at my dealer, the brackets are somewhere in the car during delivery. We are told to put it on every time but I personally asked the salesman to call the customer and ask before I start drilling
