This would be it. Big, plush and fully optioned. It was, as per the Wikipedia, the most expensive American Luxury car produced in 1978. I can't even imagine the lousy fuel economy, but I really would love to own it, and then go on a cross country road trip with the family. It would be awesome.

Yea, the Diamond Jubliee edition.
It had
actual diamonds
in the bodywork of the car.
Tiny, tiny diamonds of industrial quality and of little worth, but still! Diamonds!

That's a beautiful dash. Even for an old Merc.

Leather in the door jambs... pimpin'. Pretty good price, too. I imagine the car is quite comfy, and would be really awesome to cruise around in. Malaise luxury would be great with modern powertrains (although it's pretty great anyways).

My grandpa had one of these in gold with a sunroof and a CB radio. It just floated down the road and was like riding a couch. He also has a 60's 2 door, dark blue. Total gangster car, that one is sweet but your right they are thirsty.
