Just a simple, no frills, truck to get stuff done in. Which one is the best?

Depends on the type of work being done.
If the job involves frequent stops and the bed doesn't need a ton of capacity because it's constantly being loaded and unloaded then I would say mid 1980s-1990s Toyota pickup with the MT. Or a Nissan of that vintage. Those things ran forever and were good on gas.
If a larger bed is needed then there are a lot of options so it comes down to personal taste. I've always preferred the Chevys but a lot of people are F150 or Ram guys.

Seems practical.

Very! Air down to put stuff on the rack and in the bed, air up to drive

I've always been a fan of these home depot rental trucks, nothing to em, just a truck

Nothing like a J20 Jeep Truck

Ran these back in the 80's when I was a railroad contractor. F-150, 2X4, 5 speed manual, 300 six, 22 mpg with all kinds of stuff packed into the bed.

Never thought of that. Good idea actually.

Well... according to America the F-150. But I am partial to any old two door truck.

My truck. No frills like 4x4 or seat belts. Or A/C. Or 12 volt batteries. Or Power anything.

I'll see your F100 and raise you an F1. This is my old work truck.

Heck yeah! One day I'll resto-mod a '51. Love it.

What year is yours? I'd love to have a 56 myself.... in white of course!

Love those old c/k's. Clean ones are getting hard to find.

That is so fucking badass. I'd hire that guy.

Think you nailed it dude. Those ol Chevy 350s are bulletproof.

He owns a fabrication shop, so it not like he's on work sites. Although there's a handyman in my town that drives a bagged work truck, but it's not body dropped.

It depends what your doing to be honest. There isn't a truck for every single job on the planet.

This a thousand times. The Jeep was a truck and wasn't just tough, it was soldier-proof and went through worse conditions than any Silverado or F-150. I've never have the pleasure of using one but I been inside many Humvees in my time.

Any truck you can get your tools out of from any point around the box, instead of having to resort to folding stairs and handrails, self deploying steps, and other stupid shit on the current crop of towering blingmobiles.
