watched the movie last night. great movie, but I've read the book, and I find the movie to be pro-'murican.

You say that like its a bad thing.
Really, the only problem I had with it was the lack of character development. Also, that battle at the end between the villagers and taliban never actually happened, so there's that. But I understand the need for embellishment for the big screen.
But I think the film's real purpose was to show the grittiness and sacrifice of war, and of that it did a great job.
