Unimog frame and axle conversions are actually quite popular in the G-class scene. Most competition offroad Gs run that kind of mod. ORC does these conversions a lot.

Da portal axles are relevant to my interests involving Geländerwagens.
Also its a fantastic way to call out a bro truck from an offroader.

Yes they are good. I have some Land Cruisers with ARB and Old Man Emu bits etc.. I don't need quite that much, I can still get on the tarmac and go pretty well. My FJ60 is probably the most modified, I live in Japan so I have the diesels as well.

I think it was at an event, its pretty common to use Mog parts on these. If you are lucky to find some surplus Mog parts from a country that used them you can do it pretty cheap.
