Earlier there was some minor drama around a poor judgement joke about women as drivers. I'm not going to link the thread to minimize the spread of drama, but it inspired me.
We all agree that it's about time to lay the 'women suck at driving' joke to rest. It can be a bit offensive and it's just a dumb, overused joke at this point. What are some other automotive jokes that should be retired?
I say the 'Kia's are crap' jokes need to go the way of the beta max. It's not 2003 anymore. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but half the comments can't think of anything more creative to say than 'it's a Kia, so it'll be crap'
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
What other lame automotive jokes do we need to take out back and give the ole yeller treatment?

The fiery Ferraris bullshit. Do it. Right. Fucking. Now.

The FIAT Fix It Again Tony joke and any other acronym based jokes.

"Women suck at driving" isn't a joke, it is a stereotype. It's also not funny, just scary at times.

Even though Kia and Hyundai have improved, I still wouldn't want one.
VTEC jokes are getting old too.

I'm not sure which stage of dead horse beating it's at right now: the "I'm doing it to be ironic" stage or the "only possible funny use is an out-of-left field parody of it" stage.

Pretty sure that's a Lambo.
OH WAIT THAT'S HILARIOUS.

The Joke:
Chinese cars are unsafe.

yeah.. A friend of mine lost all interest in Ferrari after I told him they were owned by Fiat. Poor guy.

Joke, stereotype, same difference really. The stereotype spawns many jokes like 'oh, must have been a woman driving' or 'not surprising, a female was behind the wheel'. Either way it's dumb, tired, and not funny.

Why not? If it's just because they don't make one that you'd buy, that's a totally separate issue. They are nice cars these days, I would absolutely recommend an Optima to someone looking for a car in that class over anything else.

Ironically Ford makes a pretty reliable rig now.

I honestly don't know, maybe it's because I haven't driven a new one, or it's because a recent Accent pretty much got totalled when it sideswiped my Jetta's rear bumper last year.

Bah! I can't! Mobile kinja is worse than you can imagine.

The whole "rice burner" cliche has gotten pretty old now, most Japanese brands are at least made in the U.S. now. Also, American brands are switching to smaller, boosted engines with the same/improved performance and mileage over 8 cylinder setups.

The damn door speakers on the other hand...
Have a 2011 F-150. Both front door speakers have been replaced, one of the wiring harnesses has been and I'm getting another speaker replaced tomorrow. Outside of that I love the truck.

Funny because it's actually a good thing. The cheapest parts to replace on Ferraris are the parts that are used in FIATs as well.

All Toyotas are terrible, joke.
More to come.

Terrible, no. Boring? Pretty much...

Agreed. At least the 'I won't buy a foreign car' mantra that so many people hold dear while driving an Italian owned Dodge built in Canada

That is probably the most convincing ghost ride i've ever seen.

They would be smart to keep the Italian styling as well, the Dart/200 looks like a Neon mated with a Geo Prizm after a mean LaBatt Blue hangover.

As a FIAT Sales manager, I approve. If I hear that derpy joke one more time...
Usually I hear it from older Truck dads and SUV moms. The irony is that their RAM RAMs and Durangos would cease to exist if it weren't for "Tony". ::la sigh::

I don't care what you guys say, I'm not ready to give up "Pretty sure that's a Lambo..."

Yes, but "It's Always a Camry" shall live forever!
Also Prius facts (not jokes; they are, in fact, facts.)

I will never give it up.

Sounds like it's time to stop by your local car audio store for an upgrade.
(not that it's an excuse, that's pretty lame Ford - and I'm the Ford Apologist on here.)

Absolutely, although those replaceable blades are expensive these days, thanks a lot Gillette!

That would be a great meme...
"Shave seconds, not faces"

I don't think that would solve the problem in the long term. I suspect that really the wiring harness is screwed up. Whether a design issue or manufacturing I don't know. Either that or the doors have a water infiltration issue. Either way it is annoying.

The only cheap parts, mind you.

Won't be long now...before we can buy them here in the states. Not that I'm excited per se, although more choice in the marketplace is a good thing.

Fords look like Aston Martins. This stereotype has become so bad that people have commented that my Focus ST's grill looks like an Aston. You know who really stole that design? BMW:

Mustangs can't handle, Corvette interiors are cheap, GM interiors suck, BMW 3 Series owns all.
Still valid: Lincolns are just slightly-dressy Fords.
Bruised but not dead yet: real drivers want manual transmissions.
