While reading responses to my top 10 racecars question yesterday, I noticed that I recognized some cars because of the colors. before realizing what the actual car was. Among my top ten most iconic racing liveries would be:

Aryton Senna's Helmet

John Player Special cigarette livery

Gulf Livery

Marlboro:

British Racing Green (i think this is BRG at least, feel free to correct me)

BMW Art Car

Alitalia

Daytona Coupe:

Martini Porsche

Renown Clothing

I agree with all those. Maybe throw in the porsche pig livery or whatever it is called

And also the subaru 555

Great list, but let me throw a couple of NASCAR liveries into the debate.

The legendary STP 43 of "King" Richard Petty

The classic Wood Brothers' red and white Ford

Great list. If I was to have a list of the most iconic liveries though...it'd be at least 20-30, and would include ones like:

- " Rainbow Warriors " (1992-2000): The car that both Jeff Gordon and DuPont are best known for.

- " Intimidator " (1988-2001): The reason they called Dale Earnhardt Sr. the 'Man in Black'.

- To WRC as the Marlboro McLaren was to F1, the winning livery from 1996-99.

- F1 and WRC had Marlboro, NASCAR had Winston, but at Le Mans, it was all about Rothmans .

- Only one other team has more Rolex 24 wins, but this 4-time winning team has a livery that is more iconic.

- Tony the Tiger ain't got nothing on this rooster !

- Small car, big success.

- Can't forget Trans Am .

This one is pretty iconic in Australia, (at least for Bathurst fans that can see outside of Ford/Holden)

I would also like to see silk cut jaguar livery but in my opinion gulf and martini come top
