And boy, was it a surprise after another. I don't know how to explain this fully, but it utilizes an FM transmitter, Radio and some sort of communications device, and the idea for the chasing vehicle is to not let the music stop playing on their end.
Op:
during the time of learning to push the limits of grip, me and a good friend came up with a new touge battle rule set somewhat like cat and mouse.
We call it, "Dont stop the music". The lead car uses a MP3 player and a cheep FM transmitter to play music, and the goal for the following car is....not letting the music stop. The range on the transmitter we used was about 30-50 feet so keeping the pace and staying in range is a real challenge at some points.
thoughts?
Apparently, the OP failed to notice a rule about Street Racing: "Videos/threads of illegal street racing are prohibited. Posting a video depicting dangerous/reckless driving behavior will result in an actual warning ."
And it took one or two posts to hammer in that rule, which was blindsided by the op's response:
>show about streetracing
>inspired by street racing.
of course its dangerous.
I guess you kids just watch cartoons and hardpark.....im out living the dream
(Curious, would someone tell me what "hardpark" is?)
oh no a reference to the show the forums is about!?
If mankind was concerned with how dangerous the potentials are, we would have never moved forward. No cars, no planes, no trains, no standing structures over 2 stories, no roller costers, no boats and no fun.
If any group of people understood this "game" i thought it would have been this group of people....guess you guys just like watching super kawaii anime in your moms basement.
Now, I should probably state that "this group of people" are a group of autocrossers/karters/rally hooligans, to name a few. At that point, the OP is blowing smoke.
the anime is
inspired and based upon the principals of reality, street racing happen before the show was made and will continue well after the show is done.
honesty this game can be played during single lane runs or line breaker runs, its
fun and dangerous....
im sorry some of you are poons who would rather risk nothing.
"Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day when one's body and mind are at peace, one should meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown into the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from thousand-foot cliffs, dying of disease or committing seppuku at the death of one's master. And every day without fail one should consider himself as dead."
I just- The bits that I have left in bold were head-scratchingly dumb. Yes, it's an Initial D Community forum, but is it a group of people who street race? Uh, no. They know what the SCCA is, but sadly, I doubt the OP would.
After being warned about having an infraction, this is what he has to say.
you have to look at the reason the show exists my friend, its a dramatization and cheesefication of real locations, people, stories, lessons learned and the struggle for drivers born in the street to be taken seriously.
look at what was happening in japan late 80's and early 90's. Look at KT's story, look at pluspy....initial D is inspired by reality. yes its an anime, but most of the things talked about and shown (within reason, ae86 vs sw20 jumping). you can do in real life; gutter drop, fading line, crossing lines, no head light hero, tapping a wall to transfer weight, even transferring weigh to the rear/outside tire makes driving with the inside wheel off the ground possible.
and anyways, real life is way more fun than an anime.
This is why I am starting to wonder if this kid ever watched the disclaimer/disclosure notice on the beginning of each episodes of Initial D.
But that is enough from me for now. I'd post more updates soon as they come~.

There is a time and place for street racing, just as there is a time and place for track racing.
But despite that, being a dick on a forum about it is never a good idea. Respect the rules of the forum and use some goddamn common sense.
EDIT: Oh, and Hardparking is spending lots of money making a car look fast, or cool, or improving it, but only using it for commuting/parking for show. It's essentially the tuner's version of a "garage queen".
I think the transmitter idea is fascinating. It's a very unique solution to the difficult problem of "how do you regulate following distance". The only way to enforce such an idea would be to have a phone on a call with a judge, so the judge could hear inside the car if the music cut out.
Is it a good idea to explain this on a forum that prohibits talking about street racing? No. That's like going nude on the sidewalk. No one cares if you do it in your own home, but this place clearly has rules against it that you should be aware of.

When I was younger (and apparently much less intelligent) I would have thought this was a pretty cool idea, and gone out to play "don't stop the music" with my friends.
