So this is an oddly developing story that is going on right now. To keep it somewhat simple, a friend of mine was researching one way alternator clutches for the mercury marauder (which is what we both have), and came across this thread.

This is where things don't add up. Someone asked the OP if they heard a supercharger on the car in the 1/4 mile video. His reply?

And no the alternator has a clutch and is electronically controlled by the PCM and screams when the throttle goes wide open.

I could not afford the super charger kit a company made for us so went old school on the engine and built her up that way.

Plus 4.10 gears with the newest of the Ford limited slip carbon fiber lockers and 31 spline output shafts.

Her first Dyno run brand new was only 247 HP @ the rear wheels she is now pushing 458 rear wheel HP after all the work I did.

Okay first off, when have you ever heard of an alternator howling like a roots style supercharger?

Secondly, the clutch is NOT controlled by the PCM, the alternator itself is. The clutch is a one way mechanical clutch that will freewheel as the engine decreases in RPM's so the belt won't slip or chirp.

Third, he claims to have 458rwhp in this car. While this isn't a normally outrageous claim (mine makes 436rwhp), lets explore this further.

He did not do a good burn out to warm up the tires and make them sticky and was running the wrong tires on it to grip for a take off. I had my widened rims on and radial slicks for the track.

I put forged pistons and connecting rods in her they were originally powder and weak. I also did lumpy longer duration cams you can hear in the second video, larger valves and heavier springs, went from 24 lbs injectors to 60 lb and duel gt fuel pumps, changed the 80 mm mass airflow to a 100 mm non peg, tumble ported the heads and intake runner and matched all ports to every thing that was connected to them for perfect flow in and out. Set up the intake runner with water injection to cool the air fuel mixture down for better atomization, and went with a larger throttle body with a single flap for better flow. Custom long tube headers and did away with the 4 cats system and went with 2 high flows instead. Changed from a belt driven to an electric water pump to lessen the engine drag even more and a fluid balancer for the crank.

BTW I do all of my own work I just buy the parts I want and make it happen. I use to build and race Pro-Stock drag cars with my father.

Anyone who knows ford 4.6 mod motors knows its god damn impossible to be making 464rwhp N/A through a 4R70W. This is not a LSx engine, it just lacks the displacement to make those numbers without forced induction or spray. So not only is he lying about how his car makes power, but he's lying about how much power it makes to!

News flash, if you are going to lie about the car you own, don't pick a car with a limited production and small community, you will be exposed as a fraud one way or another.

Post #16, a user by the name Shermanator (who I've personally met, and have seen the car) steps in and says that he owns the car thats in the 1/4 mile video.

That's my car. Nov. 17, 2007, cecil county, 3rd run of day and was actually a 1/8 th mile run. 1st run was 11.2 and was told that I can't go that quick without a roll bar so I ran 8th mile trips. Note the 90 mph speed. Hey if he going to claim what is not his, he might as well claim a good one.

Too many pages but says he died on 01/08/2008, a bunch of donation were taken up. Someone posted up the info of the hospital in Philly where he was after having his 12th stroke. Someone also posted up that they checked with the hospital and no such person had been there or was there.

So this is still being looked into, but so far it seems like this guy is a major bullshitter. Also, he's far from dead, as he was logged into the forum 3 days ago (8/27/2013)

I always love reading stories of people posting flat out lies on car forums and getting caught later, its usually very entertaining. Lets hope this one ends the same way as the rest.
