Coworker just comes up to be and asks: "hey do you like sports cars?"

"well I like all cars, but yes to sports cars....why" I ask.

He spent this weekend test driving new cars. Tells me he wants a new mustang. my advice is to wait for the 2015 since the buying the new model will be better and/or the 2014's will be cheaper. He's got to buy now because his car failed emissions. Okay, no problem I can handle that.

Tells me he didn't like the Camaro or challenger, but likes the 370z and the mustang...but he's getting a v6. Well that's okay, v6 mustangs are a killer value.

I asked if he tried the FR-S/BRZ? apparently he does like the small "porche" feel and wants a muscle car.

okay, to each his own i guess. Hot hatch maybe? NO! muscle car!

"Oh no, I'm tired of manuals and my GF doesn't know how to drive one well, I'm getting an automatic."

Oh bonus points. when I told him to wait for the new mustang he says "don't you mean sports sedan? They are going to be 4 doors and FWD"

"...no... 100% rear drive...smaller, 2 door irs...its going to be sweet"

"No, thats what the guy at the dealership said."

This one Facebook friend posted a photo of his cousin's (distastefully modded) M6.

Me: "Sweet M6!"

Guy: "No, it's an M5."

Me: "No. M5s are 4-door sedans. It's clearly an M6."

Guy: "He told me it's an M5, bro."

Me: "Well, it's kind of sad he doesn't even know what he's driving."

The stupid and gullible are strong with this one. Seriously.....4 door and fwd? That salesman definitely saw the giant "SUCKER" your coworker has tatooed across his forehead, cause there is no way that Ford would do that to the Mustang for the simple reason that it would completely alienate their buyer base for that car.

The stigma thread. I know, stupid for me to let that get in the way of a good car, but all that talk about most (not all!) V6 muscle car owners being posers seem to beringing true here.

oh, i do remember that one. yeah its a sad truth. I still wouldn't care, but a dude who buys an automatic v6 mustang....wow.
