The A/C just went out at my house. I call the A/C guy that did good work for me in the past and that I recommended to a bunch of friends. Not only does he show up in less than an hour, he says "thanks for all the business you sent my way, this one's on me." A/C already back up and running.

Edit: I should add, I still tried to force money on him, and he absolutely refused.

No kidding. I honestly tried to force money on him and he outright refused. It is pretty refreshing to deal with nice, honest, hard working people.

When i moved into my current apartment a couple years ago, we had complete HELL dealing with Comcast screwing up our installation. The internet and cable would completely shit the bed about an hour after the techs would leave. It happened 4 times between 2 techs across 4 days. I was livid. Then they finally sent a tech that would listen to what the problem really was. He stuck around for 30 minutes after fixing it and sure enough it all went out again. He figured out what the real problem was and fixed it for real. During the time waiting to see if it would go out again, we had a couple beers and watched Samurai Champloo. In the end, guy gave me his card with his cell # on it so if there was another problem I could call him directly to come fix it. I have invoked this favor twice and both times he fixed my problem quickly and dealt with Comcast so I didn't have to talk to them at all. Both times there was cold beer waiting for him. God Bless 'Murica
